Controlled unidirectional reflectionlessness by coupling strength in a non-Hermitian waveguide quantum electrodynamics system
Unidirectional reflectionlessness is investigated in a waveguide quantum
electrodynamics system that consists of a cavity and a -type
three-level quantum dot coupled to a one-dimensional plasmonic waveguide.
Analytical expressions of transmission and reflection coefficients are derived
and discussed for both resonant and off-resonant couplings. By appropriately
modulating the coupling strength, phase shift and Rabi frequency,
unidirectional reflectionlessness is observed at the exceptional points. And
unidirectional coherent perfect absorption is exhibited at the vicinity of
exceptional point. These results might find applications in designing quantum
devices of photons, such as optical switches and single-photon transistors.Comment: 11 pages, 7 figure
The relationship between job satisfaction, burnout, and turnover intention among physicians from urban state-owned medical institutions in Hubei, China: a cross-sectional study
<p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>Throughout China, a growing number of physicians are leaving or intending to depart from their organizations owing to job dissatisfaction. Little information is available about the role of occupational burnout in this association. We set out to analyze the relationship between job satisfaction, burnout, and turnover intention, and further to determine whether occupational burnout can serve as a mediator among Chinese physicians from urban state-owned medical institutions.</p> <p>Methods</p> <p>A cross-sectional survey was carried out in March 2010 in Hubei Province, central China. The questionnaires assessed sociodemographic characteristics, job satisfaction, burnout, and turnover intention. The job satisfaction and occupational burnout instruments were obtained by modifying the Chinese Physicians' Job Satisfaction Questionnaire (CPJSQ) and the Chinese Maslach Burnout Inventory (CMBI), respectively. Such statistical methods as one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation, GLM-univariate and structural equation modeling were used.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>Of the 1600 physicians surveyed, 1451 provided valid responses. The respondents had medium scores (3.18 +/-0.73) on turnover intention, in which there was significant difference among the groups from three urban areas with different development levels. Turnover intention, which significantly and negatively related to all job-satisfaction subscales, positively related to each subscale of burnout syndrome. Work environment satisfaction (<it>b </it>= -0.074, <it>p < 0.01</it>), job rewards satisfaction (<it>b </it>= -0.073, <it>p < 0.01</it>), organizational management satisfaction (<it>b </it>= -0.146, <it>p < 0.01</it>), and emotional exhaustion (<it>b </it>= 0.135, <it>p < 0.01</it>) were identified as significant direct predictors of the turnover intention of physicians, with 41.2% of the variance explained unitedly, under the control of sociodemographic variables, among which gender, age, and years of service were always significant. However, job-itself satisfaction no longer became significant, with the estimated parameter on job rewards satisfaction smaller after burnout syndrome variables were included. As congregated latent concepts, job satisfaction had both significant direct effects (gamma21 = -0.32, <it>p < 0.01</it>) and indirect effects (gamma11 × beta21 = -0.13, <it>p < 0.01</it>) through occupational burnout (62% explained) as a mediator on turnover intention (47% explained).</p> <p>Conclusions</p> <p>Our study reveals that several, but not all dimensions of both job satisfaction and burnout syndrome are relevant factors affecting physicians' turnover intention, and there may be partial mediation effects of occupational burnout, mainly through emotional exhaustion, within the impact of job satisfaction on turnover intention. This suggests that enhancements in job satisfaction can be expected to reduce physicians' intentions to quit by the intermediary role of burnout as well as the direct path. It is hoped that these findings will offer some clues for health-sector managers to keep their physician resource motivated and stable.</p
Measurement of azimuthal asymmetries in inclusive charged dipion production in annihilations at = 3.65 GeV
We present a measurement of the azimuthal asymmetries of two charged pions in
the inclusive process based on a data set of 62
at the center-of-mass energy GeV collected with
the BESIII detector. These asymmetries can be attributed to the Collins
fragmentation function. We observe a nonzero asymmetry, which increases with
increasing pion momentum. As our energy scale is close to that of the existing
semi-inclusive deep inelastic scattering experimental data, the measured
asymmetries are important inputs for the global analysis of extracting the
quark transversity distribution inside the nucleon and are valuable to explore
the energy evolution of the spin-dependent fragmentation function.Comment: 7 pages, 5 figure
Study of
We present an analysis of the decay based
on data collected by the BESIII experiment at the resonance. Using
a nearly background-free sample of 18262 events, we measure the branching
fraction . For GeV/ the partial branching fraction is
. A partial wave analysis shows that the dominant
component is accompanied by an \emph{S}-wave contribution accounting for
of the total rate and that other components are
negligible. The parameters of the resonance and of the
form factors based on the spectroscopic pole dominance predictions are also
measured. We also present a measurement of the helicity
basis form factors in a model-independent way.Comment: 17 pages, 6 figure
Study of and and
We study the decays of and to the final states
and based on a single
baryon tag method using data samples of
and events collected with
the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. The decays to
are observed for the first time. The
measured branching fractions of and
are in good agreement with, and much
more precise, than the previously published results. The angular parameters for
these decays are also measured for the first time. The measured angular decay
parameter for , , is found to be negative, different to the other
decay processes in this measurement. In addition, the "12\% rule" and isospin
symmetry in the and and
systems are tested.Comment: 11 pages, 7 figures. This version is consistent with paper published

Measurement of the Cross Section between 600 and 900 MeV Using Initial State Radiation
We extract the cross section in the energy
range between 600 and 900 MeV, exploiting the method of initial state
radiation. A data set with an integrated luminosity of 2.93 fb taken at
a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII
collider is used. The cross section is measured with a systematic uncertainty
of 0.9%. We extract the pion form factor as well as the
contribution of the measured cross section to the leading order hadronic vacuum
polarization contribution to . We find this value to be

Measurements of absolute hadronic branching fractions of baryon
Using of collisions recorded at
with the BESIII detector, we report first measurements
of absolute hadronic branching fractions of Cabibbo-favored decays of the
baryon with a double-tag technique. A global least-square
fitter is utilized to improve the measured precision. Among the measurements
for twelve decay modes, the branching fraction for
is determined to be
, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the
second is systematic. In addition, the measurements of the branching fractions
of the other eleven Cabbibo-favored hadronic decay modes are significantly
improved
Search for C-parity violation in and
Using events recorded in
collisions at 3.686 GeV with the BESIII at the BEPCII collider, we
present searches for C-parity violation in and decays via . No significant
signals are observed in either channel. Upper limits on the branching fractions
are set to be and
at the 90\%
confidence level. The former is one order of magnitude more stringent than the
previous upper limit, and the latter represents the first limit on this decay
channel.Comment: 7 pages, 2 figure
Measurement of the proton form factor by studying
Using data samples collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider,
we measure the Born cross section of at 12
center-of-mass energies from 2232.4 to 3671.0 MeV. The corresponding effective
electromagnetic form factor of the proton is deduced under the assumption that
the electric and magnetic form factors are equal . In
addition, the ratio of electric to magnetic form factors, , and
are extracted by fitting the polar angle distribution of the proton
for the data samples with larger statistics, namely at 2232.4 and
2400.0 MeV and a combined sample at = 3050.0, 3060.0 and 3080.0 MeV,
respectively. The measured cross sections are in agreement with recent results
from BaBar, improving the overall uncertainty by about 30\%. The
ratios are close to unity and consistent with BaBar results in
the same region, which indicates the data are consistent with the
assumption that within uncertainties.Comment: 13 pages, 24 figure
